The available license types for EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert software are:
  • Buildtime licenses
  • Runtime licenses

Buildtime licenses
Buildtime licenses (also known as Development or Engineering licenses), allow creation or modification of HMI applications on Windows Operating System environment and the transfer of the application to HMI hardware targets (Runtime environment).

Buildtime licenses are divided in:
  • Basic
  • Professional Single
  • Professional Single Fixed Term
  • Professional Group
  • Professional Team

Professional buildtime licenses can be Single, Group, Team or Entity type. This defines the number of development stations where the same license ID activation code can activate the buildtime of the software.
Single for 1 station / Group for 3 stations / Team for 10 stations / Entity for 100 stations.
Note: Basic license only exists as Single type (for 1 development station).

Runtime licenses
Runtime licenses allow the user to execute the application on a targeted HMI hardware.
While in Harmony HMI targets, the runtime license is integrated by default in the purchased hardware, to execute an EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert application on a Harmony industrial PC or a 3rd party brand PC, a runtime license needs to be purchased separately and then activated on the respective hardware.

Web Viewer Runtime licenses (runtime add-on licenses)
Web Viewer Runtime license allow users to visualize and operate the HMI screen remotely with mirroring function.
Web Viewer feature runs on standard browsers like Chrome, Safari and Edge for devices (PC, Tablet, Smart phone).

Web Viewer Runtime license activation is done directly in the Harmony HMI, Harmony industrial PC or 3rd party PC by typing the respective license activation code using the EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert Hardware Config window.

Web Viewer Runtime licenses are divided in Single, Team and Entity types.
This defines the number of target HMI hardware units where the same license ID activation code can activate the Web Viewer feature.
Single for 1 target hardware unit / Team for 10 target hardware units / Entity for 100 target hardware units.

Additional notes:

  • Buildtime Professional Fixed Term license only exists in digital format
  • Web Viewer Runtime licenses, for the time being are just available in paper format.
