Testing your Geo SCADA application after an upgrade

Below are some common areas to test after an upgrade to a newer version of Geo SCADA takes place:

• The database server starts as expected, no errors occur during the start up
• The server’s license is being recognized
• The ViewX clients are licensed and connect to the database server as expected
• All outstations are able to communicate to their respective devices
• Data arrive as expected from the outstations
• Mimic navigation works as expected
• Mimic scripts are able to run without errors
• For redundant systems:
  • All redundant servers are able to synchronize with the main server
  • Server changeover works as expected
• For Virtual ViewX:
  • Virtual ViewX server is upgraded as well as the rest of Geo SCADA
  • Virtual ViewX clients are able to connect to the database server
• 3^rd party clients are able to connect to Geo SCADA and perform their tasks
