Hazard: The results of analysis performed by Schneider Electric show that battery module issues caused by an internal battery nonconformance may affect the battery performance and, in a very low number of cases, result in localised overheating.
Affected products: A battery module issue from a limited batch was identified in Symmetra PX UPS systems using the SYBTU2-PLP or SYBTU2-PLPLL battery modules made between January 2021 and July 2023. Refer to the instructions below to determine if your product is affected.
Remedy: Affected battery modules (SYBTU2-PLP or SYBTU2-PLPLL) need to be inspected and replaced if necessary. This service will be provided by a Schneider Electric service technician.
Determine if your product is affected
Goal: To identify if the battery modules inside your UPS are affected. Document affected battery serial numbers identified during inspection and submit them when requesting intervention.

Open the battery cabinet door and review each battery module carefully. Determine if any of the battery modules inside your Symmetra PX battery cabinet have the designated C69 label. Confirm the battery doesn’t have a green, blue, or yellow sticker below the C69 label.
If yes, proceed to Step 2. If no, stop - you are not affected.
