Issue
PowerLogic SCADA (PLS) Web Client returns #COM for all values and displays the popup message: “No Protection Key is Found.” Runtime on the server machine functions normally (no #COM).

Environment
PowerLogic SCADA (PLS) – Web Client
Cause
The Loopback IP Address (127.0.0.1) is used in Network Addresses within the primary project and/or any Included Projects.
When loopback is used, remote clients look to themselves for data and for licensing, resulting in #COM values and the “No Protection Key is Found” popup.
Resolution
- In Citect Explorer, highlight the project.
- Open Citect Project Editor → Servers → Network Addresses.
- Replace any 127.0.0.1 entries with the actual IP address assigned to the network interface used to connect to system devices.
- Repeat steps 2–3 for all Included Projects (Project Editor → System → Included Projects).
- Compile and run the project. Then relaunch the Web Client.
Note
While the Loopback Address is convenient for testing, it is highly recommended to use the actual assigned IP addresses for Network Addresses in live conditions so remote clients can resolve the correct server for data and licensing.
