I need to understand how the upgrading of PME (Power Monitoring Expert) Licenses work with Software Assurance in the Software Companion Portal.
Resolution
To upgrade your licenses in the Software Companion Portal you need valid active Software Assurance applied to your PME system. The Software Assurance is system based not site based. If you have two PME systems at the one site you would still need to purchase Software Assurance for each individual System.
Software Assurance comes in a 1 Year and 3 Years version. The commercial references are:
- PSWSA1YR - PME Software Assurance 1 Year
- PSWSA3YR - PME Software Assurance 3 Years
If you were to purchase PSWSA1YR today, you would be eligible to upgrade to current version of PME, as well the next future release, should it come out within the 12 months of purchase.
If you were to purchase PSWSA3YR today, you would be eligible to upgrade to current version of PME, as well the next future release(s), should it come out within the 36 months of purchase.
The quantity of Software Assurance credits required to version upgrade a complete PME system depends on the individual PME system:
- Quantity of each device license type
- Software modules
