Issue / Question
A customer is asking whether a firmware update for the Com’X 210 can ensure that the web interface uses TLS 1.2 or higher.
Cause
There is limited documentation available regarding the TLS version used across different firmware versions of the Com’X 210, particularly for the latest releases.
Resolution / Answer
- Internal verification on a Com’X 210 running firmware version 6.6.5 confirms that the device uses:
- ✅ TLS 1.2 communication
- The latest available firmware version for the Com’X 210 is:
- v6.8.7 (release date: December 2022)
- ⚠️ For this latest firmware version, no explicit documentation is available confirming which TLS version is used.
- Since TLS 1.2 is already supported in earlier firmware (v6.6.5), it is expected that later versions maintain at least the same level of security or improve upon it.
Important Note
- The Com’X 210 has been End of Production since June 2022.
- Further firmware updates or security enhancements are limited or no longer expected.
Recommendations
- Follow the guidelines provided in the official Hardening Guide to implement cybersecurity best practices.
- For new installations or stricter cybersecurity requirements, consider migration to newer solutions. (Newer solution: Product Reference: PAS600)
