EcoStruxure Hybrid DCS [2018]: How user can identify the build version from database backup file before restoring to the platform

This Knowledge base explains about the scenario where user can find the version of the database backup before restoring into platform.

This document can be referred for any EcoStruxure Hybrid DCS version

Causes and Fixes:

In a scenario where user wants to know the version of the Platform from where the Database Back Up has been taken to avoid the "Restore failed message.."

Platform version of the backup file(.dbk extension) can be identified by following steps
1. Make sure the extracting software 7-Zip is installed in the machine.
2. Right click on the database back up file and click on "Open archive"

3. Extracting Window appears
4. Click on "info" tab. New pop up window opens with few properties
5. Version of the database can be seen in "comment" property.

6. The comment shows 4.3.1. So, the database is from 4.3Sp1 system

Note: Database cannot be restored by extracting the files.
