Power cycling the STBNIP2212 causes the island RDY lights to blink.
Issue
Power cycling the STBNIP2212 causes the island RDY lights to blink.
Product Line
Advantys Ethernet NIM p/n STBNIP2212
Environment
Windows 7
Resolution
The problem could occur if the NIM has a SIM card inserted and the SIM card does not have a
configuration on it. If the SIM has a configuration in it, it could be corrupted.
Under normal conditions, when the Advantys NIM is powered cycled with a SIM inserted in it, the
NIM is designed to boot up using valid configuration on the SIM card. If it does not find a valid
configuration on the SIM card, the island will go into fallback mode. When the island is in fallback
mode, the RDY lights will blink and the island inputs and outputs will go to zero or it's configured
fallback value.
To resolve the problem:
Check to see if there is a valid configuration on the SIM card. If there is none, use the following steps to
configure it.
- Remove the SIM card.
- Power up the island.
- Start the Advantys Configuration Software.
- Create a configuration and download it to the NIM.
- Insert the SIM card into the NIM while it is powred up.
- Click on Online\Connect to connect to the NIM.
- Click on 'Online\Store to SIM card'
- Store the configuration to the SIM.
- Disconnect Advantys Configuration Software from the NIM.
- Power cycle the NIM.
