Goals and Symptoms
This resolution is designed to show one possible way of creating a deadband block.
Causes and Fixes
The logic to perform this operation was placed in a DFB for this example.
This logic will move the input to the output if the input is +/- (x %) of the current value at the output.
The setpoint can also be changed manually; if the Parameter 'Man_Set' is triggered the block will move whatever value residing at 'Input' to 'Output'.
After the output is changed by either method the new deadband upper and lower limits will be based of the new output.
Example:
A value of 100 resides at Input
A value of 10 is used for Percent
The setpoint output is set to 100 by pulsing Man_Set
The upper and lower limits of the setpoint are +/- 10% of 100.
The output will not change its value until the input goes below 90 or above 110.
Below are the DFB inputs, outputs, and internal variables:
Although this logic was written in Concept; similar logic can be used in Unity Pro.
