Issue
Need to reset an ION 8600/8650 Front Panel Password

Cause
Front panel password of the meter has been forgotten or for other reasons needs to be reset to the factory default.

Resolution
Check to see that the meter has no Seal. This is a locking ring that attaches the clear plastic outer casing to the meter base. If there is a seal it will likely need to be re-sealed.

1. Remove the front panel by holding the plastic casing and turning it 1/4 turn counter clockwise.
2. Put the meter in "Test Mode" by pressing the Test button (uncovered by removing the plastic case)
3. Hold down the ALT/Enter and Demand reset buttons together for 2-3 seconds
4. A confirmation screen saying "Password Reset - Password reset to default" should appear.
