How to reset the password of MCSESM Modicon switch products?

To properly reset to factory the switch you will need :

• a Modicon Memory Back Up Adaptor with the reference MCSEAM0100
• a USB type C cable

Follow the procedure below :

1. Power off the switch
2. From your PC put an empty 'recovery.txt' file on the Modicon Memory Back Up Adaptor
3. Eject the Modicon Memory Back Up Adaptor safely from your PC via the Windows menu
4. Plug the Modicon Memory Back Up Adaptor into the switch
5. Power up the switch
6. Wait for the status LED to start flashing
7. Remove the Modicon Memory Back Up Adaptor
8. Plug in the USB type C cable connected to your PC
9. Open the terminal window ( through Putty emulator for instance)

After step 6 the switch should have booted into SysMon1 and you should be able to reset the configuration to default via the 'Manage configurations' submenu.
Then proceed as follows

1. Change from the main menu to Manage configurations : press the <4> key
2. Execute the Clear configuration and boot param command : press <1> key
3. To load the factory settings : press the <Enter> key
4. To go back to main menu : press <q> key
5. To reboot the device with factory settings : press the <q> key
