EcoStruxure Power Operation 2021: VCRUNTIME140.dll Error during installation while configuring 'Configure PostgreSQL' step
Issue
During installation of Power Operation 2021 below popup with error ‘’ observed during 'Configure PostgreSQL' step.
The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found.
Some times above popup is not visible, but below error is present inside install log file.
RunExecutableWithReturn received an error from command E:\setup\SetupSupport\PostgreSQL\postgresql-13.3-2-windows-x64.exe --mode unattended --unattendedmodeui none --prefix "C:\Program Files\postgreSQL" --datadir "C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\Power Operation\v2021\database" --superaccount postgres --superpassword ****** --debugtrace "C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Operation\v2021\SetupLogs\postgresql.log" --disable-components pgAdmin Error running C:\Users\EMSCEMENT\AppData\Local\Temp\postgresql_installer_0a8b5943a0\getlocales.exe : child killed: unknown signal
Environment
Power SCADA Operation (PSO) 2020
EcoStruxure Power Operation (EPO) 2021
Cause
Corrupt Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable which is already installed (from some 3rd party apps) in the machine in which required DLL file is missing in the windows directory is causing this issue.
Resolution
Uninstall the existing 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable' from control panel-
Then install them from the PO ISO (or Microsoft site) and installed
Now 'Retry Failed step' which will resume the configuration and installation will be successful.
