Replacement Battery Cartridge Locking Tabs for Single Phase Smart-UPS
Issue:
Customers are having issues removing an RBC (Replacement Battery Cartridge) from the UPS or Extended Battery Pack.

Solution:
Certain RBCs for Smart-UPS have locking tabs that prevents the RBCs to be fully pulled out as a safety feature. The user needs to press down on the tab groves first before pulling out the RBC. See sample below for an APCRBC115.
NOTE: You may encounter issues that the locking tabs will not push down. This can happen when the batteries inside the cartridge are swollen. In cases like this, a UPS replacement may be applicable. Always check your battery life span and do not exceed the recommended life span to avoid this from happening. Refer to the FAQs below for more info.
