According to the ISA definition (ISA TR 18.2.8 for Non-Alarm Notifications), an alarm requires action, whereas an alert provides information.
Geo SCADA uses Severity configuration to establish an Alert list with the goal of filtering from the Alarm list or keeping Alerts in a separate Alarm list.
These are the steps needed to create the alert list.
Open the server configuration dialog and create new severities, naming them 'Alert<type>'.
Set colors and allowable behaviors.
You can use timed alarm redirections to auto-ack these if needed, either based on time or immediately if you don't want them to require acknowledging. Please refer to the link below for more information.

Add a severity filter to the user object properties dialog and to the alarm banner filter to exclude these lower severities, so they are not seen.

Create hyperlinks to alarm and event lists that open the list with these alarm types shown. (Or add to specific Alert mimics.).
