SQL Browser Service is a Microsoft SQL component used to assist clients in connecting to SQL server instances. It is most useful when there are multiple instances on a single machine or database server.

In cases where the PME system is standalone (application server and database server on one server) and there are not multiple SQL instances, SQL Server Browser Service can be disabled.
