Replacement for Obsolete C3235 1 ms SOE Board in SAGE RTU

Issue:

The C3235 1 ms SOE expansion board is obsolete and no longer available for SAGE RTUs.

Product:

Sage RTU Series (SAGE 1X10, 1X30, 1X50, 2X00, 3030X)

Environment:

SAGE RTU installations requiring Sequence of Events (SOE) functionality with 1 ms resolution.

Cause:

The C3235 board has been discontinued and replaced by the updated C3835 PC104 1 ms SOE board, which offers improved performance and expanded capacity.

Resolution:

Replace the C3235 board with the C3835 PC104 1 ms SOE board:

  • Enhanced Features: Updated DSP for faster speed and lower power consumption.
  • Capacity: Supports up to 512 SOE points per RTU (two boards at 256 points each).
  • Compatibility: Maintains use of existing status input boards via the same 20‑pin ribbon cable.
  • Installation Notes:
    • Remove C3235 boards and install C3835 on the PC104 stack.
    • Reuse existing status input cabling.
    • Configure jumpers: W1 (IRQ signal), W2 (board address).
    • Ensure W6 on the SAGE 2400 baseboard is set to INT.
  • Firmware Requirement: C3414‑500‑S02J2 or later.
