Smart‑UPS Ultra 2.2 kVA & 3 kVA – Fan Noise Level Appears Too Loud
Issue
Customers may report that the fan noise of Smart‑UPS Ultra 2.2 kVA and 3 kVA models is excessively loud.

Environment
UPS ID 1062 and ID 1063, when running UPS firmware below version 04.9
UPS ID 1034, when running UPS firmware below version 06.9
Cause
The fan control algorithm in earlier firmware versions results in higher perceived fan noise during normal operation.
Resolution
The acoustic level for all models listed does not exceed 55 dB, regardless of firmware version.
Fan speed control algorithms were enhanced in the following firmware releases:
v04.9 for UPS IDs 1062 & 1063
v06.9 for UPS ID 1034
To reduce the perceived noise level and benefit from improved fan behavior, upgrade the UPS firmware to the latest available version.
