How to replace the Battery Module in APC Smart‑UPS Modular Ultra 5–20 kW?

Issue:
The UPS displays a battery warning or requires battery replacement.

Product Line:
APC Smart‑UPS Modular Ultra 5 kW, 10 kW, 15 kW, and 20 kW

Environment:
UPS Models that begin with SRYL5K up to SRYL20K
All Serial Numbers

Cause:
The replacement battery module (SRYLBM) has failed or reached the end of its service life.

Resolution:
The Smart‑UPS Modular Ultra uses user‑replaceable battery module part number: SRYLBM.
Please review the battery safety information included with this article prior to replacing the battery module.

Battery Replacement Steps:

• Turn the battery module knob to the OFF position.
• Loosen the thumb screw by moving it upward or downward, depending on where the battery module is installed.
• Pull the battery module out of the UPS.
• Slide the new battery module (SRYLBM) fully into the slot.
• Tighten the thumb screw to secure the new battery module.
• Turn the battery module knob to the ON position.
