Video: What is the force to turn off, on, and reset (from tripped to off) PowerPacT Q frame breakers?
Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Resolution:
For a PowerPacT Q frame circuit breaker, following are the forces required to operate the handle:
ON = 8 pounds (force required to close the breaker by pushing the handle from OFF to ON)
OFF = 15 pounds (force required to open the breaker by pushing the handle from ON to OFF)
RESET = 35 pounds (force required to reset the breaker after a trip by pushing the handle from TRIPPED to OFF)
  • Note that resetting the breaker handle from TRIPPED to OFF takes a large amount of force. As explained in the below video, push the breaker handle until it just touches the breaker case to get it to reset. If you have pushed the breaker handle until it touches the breaker case and it still won't reset, the breaker may need to be replaced.
