Can the Melting Alloy Overload trip if the Thermal Unit is installed backward?
Issue:
Will the overload trip if the Thermal unit is mounted backward?

Product Line:
NEMA and Definite Purpose Contactors and Starters

Environment:
9065 Melting Alloy Overload

Resolution:
No it will not trip. Melting alloy thermal units should be mounted so that the tooth of the pawl arm in the overload relay
cavity can engage the teeth of the ratchet wheel when the reset button is pushed down and released. Please see attachment for more information.
