Can you use a fused disconnect with SSP01EMA16?

Issue:

FUsed disconnect for SSP01EMA16

Product Line:

Surge Protective Devices (SPDs)

Environment:

Type EMA surge protective devices.

Cause:

Application

Resolution:

The SSP01EMA16 series of surge protection devices (SPDs) are a UL1449 TYPE 1 .

UL1449 TYPE 1 SPD does not require to be connected to any over-current protective device (SCPD/fuse or circuit breaker).

We do recommend connecting the SPD to at least a molded case switch so that the SPD can be activated and deactivated (turned on and off) without having to remove power to that complete electrical distribution device that the SPD is directly connected to.
