Environment:
ABL8 Power Supplies for Industrial use and rail mounting

Cause:
Battery pack on the ABL8 power supplies not being detected, affection related to brand new devices and units that have been stored for a long time.

Resolution:

This Happens to brand new devices or units that has been on stock for months , depending on the ambient temperature the battery may have self-discharged to a voltage below 17V The battery has a self-discharge rate (20°C) of around 3% per month.

The ABL8BBU will not load the battery but in the past we have deep discharged batteries recharged with a constant current power supply and have started with a loading current of ~200mA (maximum loading current is 10% of the battery capacity – 3.2Ah -> ~300mA , 7Ah -> 700mA). After a while (days) the battery was charged enough to be recognized by the ABL8BBU.
