  1. First, download and install the Modbus Poll software, then open it.
  2. Click on the Connection option and select Connect from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the pop-up parameter dialog, select Connection as Modbus TCP/IP and fill in the IP address, which can be obtained from the IFE device.
  4. Click OK to complete the settings.
  5. Next, read the status of the communicating motor mechanism through the registers.
  6. Click on the Setup option and select Read/Write Definition from the dropdown menu.
  7. In the pop-up parameter dialog, enter slave ID 255, Address as 564, and Quantity as 1, select "PCL Addresses (Base 1)".
  8. The purpose of this step is to confirm that the communication between the communicating motor mechanism, BSCM, and IFE module is functioning normally.
  9. Click OK to complete the settings.
  10. The value from register 564 has been read out.
  11. Right-click and select Format/Binary from the menu. The value changes to binary.
  12. From right to left, the second bit indicates whether the communicating motor mechanism is in manual or automatic mode; currently, the second bit is 1, indicating it is in automatic mode.
  13. Manually switch the toggle switch on the communicating motor mechanism to the manual position, and the second bit changes from 1 to 0, indicating that the communication of the communicating motor mechanism is working properly.
  14. Next, click on the Functions menu and select 16: Write Registers from the dropdown menu. In the pop-up window, we will input Modbus commands to control the opening and closing of the communicating motor mechanism.
  15. Slave ID 255 does not need to be changed; enter Address as 8000 and Quantity as 6.
  16. The circuit breaker is currently in the closed position, and we will input the opening command.
  17. Starting from 8000, sequentially input 904, 10, 4353, 1, 12336, 12336, and click send to open the communicating motor mechanism.
  18. Modify the data at 8000 from 904 to 905, click Send, and the communicating motor mechanism will close.
