Resolution
If a problem is found on the TSXP572623 or the TSXP573623 PLC, there is no way to upgrade
the ETY port to the latest version that fixes the problem. Even though the exec firmware for the TSXP572634
ETY port is the same as that for the TSXP572623 ETY port, the Unity OS loader does not recognize the PLC
type and ETY port when you try to upgrade it.
The reason for this is because the Unity OS loader does not support the PL7 Premium PLC's. The ETY
port on PL7 Premium PLC's were designed to be only upgradeable by the factory. The PLC must be sent
back to the factory for a repair/upgrade.
As a workaround, you can try the following solution to upgrade the ETY port for the TSXP572623.
- Download the latest Unity OS CD from pl@net and burn it to a CD.
- Start the OS Loader from the Unity CD
- Upgrade the TSXP572623 PLC to a TSXP572634 PLC using the files that are found in the folder named
-Upgrade the ETY port to the latest version using files from the folder named
'Premium\Processor_modules\Pl7_to_Unity\TSXP572623_to_2634\Eth_OS' from the CD
-Downgrade the PLC back to a TSXP572623.using the files that are found in the folder named
'Premium\Processor_modules\Unity_to_Pl7\TSXP572634_to_2623\Sv6.2' from the CD.
Note: The instructions to properly upgrade and downgrade the CPU and ETY port are
located in the folder named 'Documents' on the CD. The instructions must be followed
exactly during the upgrade and downgrade process. Failure to follow the directions could make
the PLC inoperable.
The same procedure applies to the TSXP573623. The only exception is that the name of the
Unity folder will be different.
