How to configure an ATV71 to be used with an Ethernet IP module

The following steps can be used to configure an Ethernet IP module (i.e., TSXETC101, etc.) to
communicate with an 'ALTIVAR 61/71' device.

• Configure the Telemecanique native profile for the ALTIVAR 71. (For additional information on how to configure the native profile, reference 'Section 8 titled ' Configuration of assemblies' in the 'ATV61/71 Ethernet manual'. )
• Open the 'DTM Browser' window in Unity 5.0.
• Right click on the network name for the 'TSXETC101' module and select 'Add'.
• Scroll down the list of devices and click on 'ALTIVAR71..' to highlight one of the selections.
• Click on 'Add DTM' to import the .eds file into the application.

• Define an 'Alias name' for the 'ALTIVAR 71' device.
• Click on 'OK',
  

• Double click on the 'ALTIVAR 71' slave for the 'TSXETC101' module to open the 'Premium Ethernet Module

• Click on 'Connection' to open the 'General tab for the slave.
• Click on the input field next to 'Input mode' under the section named 'T->O' and set it to 'Point to Point'.
• Click on OK to close the 'Premium Ethernet Module Configuration' window for the slave

Note: 'Point to Point' is used for the 'T->O' connection instead of Multicast because there is a known
issue on the ALTIVAR devices where the Ethernet adapter sends the ethernet frames as
broadcast messages instead multicast messages. As a result of this, the broadcast storm
protection in the '140NOC771xx' and 'TSXETC1xx' will block the communications from the
ALTIVAR 61/71.

• Double click on the network name for the 'TSXETC101' module to open the 'Premium Ethernet Module

• Click on the alias name for the 'ALTIVAR 71...' in the 'Device list'.
• Change the 'Import Mode' under the section labeled 'Items Management' to 'Manual'.
• Click on 'Apply'.

• Click on Items' under the 'ALTIVAR 71...' device name to open the window for configuring the 'Input/Output'.
• Configure the Inputs and Outputs
• Click on OK to close the 'Premium Ethernet Module Configuration' window for the the 'TSXETC101.' module.
