Step 1: Template for BMX EHC 0200 High speed counter
module consists of Topological and Application template
The Application template is termed as “$TSignCptBmx” representing Signed Counter Module and
“$TUnsignCptmx” representing the Unsigned Counter Module. They appear under Global Templates in
PES V3.1 SP1. 3

Step 2: Instantiation of Application template
Instantiate the required Application template and define the relative properties for the application
template like Name, Description.

Step 3: Topology Configuration
Now perform bottom up by configuring BMX EHC 0200 and configure the counter function to “Ratio
Mode 1”. If both channel is to be configured then enable Counter 0 and Counter 1. 4

Step 4: Mapping the information.
Upon performing bottom up, Map the relevant mapping interface between topological templates to the
application template. User needs to ensure right interface is mapped in order to avoid any error during
Build Stage.

Step 5: Build Operation
Once successful generation is performed, now it is required to perform Build Action. Upon successful
Build, an FBD section would be created with a DFB based on Signed or Unsigned Function which would
provide all the necessary information that is facilitated by the counter module. Appropriate Channel
address would be assigned for the same.
