Is it possible to change application type of my Sepam?
Issue
A new protection application type is need for the existing Sepam.

The answer is a little bit different according to the Sepam series:
- Sepam series 20 and 40: Modification of Sepam application type requires replacement of your complete Sepam. You need to order a new PowerLogic Protection Relay with the correct application type needed.
- Sepam series 60 and 80: As application type is in the cartridge, modification of Sepam application type requires only replacement of the cartridge. You need to order a new cartridge with the application type needed. Note: be careful, since you may need to purchase additional CCA63x CT adapters, depending on which Application Types are involved.
Note that in all cases, a firmware patch cannot modify application type of a Sepam.
Update Note (April 2026).
The Sepam 20/40 range is obsolete and has been replaced by the PowerLogic P3 / P5 line, depending on the application. Likewise, the Sepam 60/80 range is in the final stage of its commercial life, and for new projects it can be replaced by the PowerLogic P7.
