Can ION or Powerlogic meters be used to monitor the output of a VFD for energy consumption and/or frequency monitoring.
Resolution
Powerlogic and ION metering families are not designed for non-sinusoidal variable frequency waveforms. These meters are designed to measure a fairly constant frequency, and have a very small range of variance (usually 45-65 Hz depending on the specific device). Because of this, they are unable to measure the output of a variable frequency drive.
