Is it possible to change the default Alarm View within the PME web page?

Issue
A customer wants to change the default view when selecting the Alarms section of the PME web page.

Product

Struxureware Power Monitoring 7.0(SPM)

Power Monitoring Expert 7.2.x

Power Monitoring Expert 8.x

Environment
PME Web application

Resolution
By default, the Alarms section of the PME web page opens the 24 Hour most recent view.

It's possible to modify this view within the tables of the Applications Modules database.

*** The following steps assume familiarity with the ION databases, SQL Server Management Studio, and changing database table entries.  Always have recent backups before making database modifications. ***

In the view called [Configuration].[ConfigurationSettings], you'll find all of the Alarm views that have been configured in the system.  The query below will find the one that's currently set to be the default Alarm view:

SELECT * FROM  [ApplicationModules].[Configuration].[ConfigurationSettings]
WHERE [ItemType] = N'Alarm and Event Filters' AND [Item] IN (N'Standard Alarm Filters', N'Custom Alarm Filters')
AND [Value] LIKE N'%true%'

Once you find the Alarm view that's currently set to be the default, you need to change the contents of its [Value] column:  replace the part of the [Value] that says true with false

When you've done that, then you can find the Alarm view that you want to be the default and change its [Value] column, replacing false with true

One important thing to note is that it's possible that the customer's choice for the default Alarm view might not stay intact if they decide to upgrade to a newer version of PME.  If their selection doesn't get retained, they will have to repeat the steps above.
