Environment
PME Dashboards
Cause
Prerequisite system/steps:
8.1 platform files placed in dashboards
\
bin & slideshow
\
bin via msi as they were not
there in this version;
a.
b.
Dashboards and AZZO gadgets function at this stage;
1.
PME 8.1 with any AZZO gadgets installed;
â–Ş
We have seen instances where the 8.2 installer has not placed new files in the
folder. We noticed that ProductInfo.xml pointing to PME 8.1 causing 2.b below to
fail. This could likely be due to existence of files linked to different msi. If this is
true than step 3 and 4 should uninstall existing files from Dashboards, slideshows
\
bin and place them from system
\
bin.
â–Ş
We have to be prudent with this issue and observe it on individual upgrades. At
least few upcoming ones.
a.
The 8.2 installer places these same platform files in these same folders now;
b.
Dashboards 'should' function at this stage;
2.
Upgrade to PME 8.2;
This will most likely remove platform files from these location (msi reference counting
may cause this to sometimes be different);
a.
b.
Dashboards will most likely be broken at this stage;
3.
Uninstall AZZO 8.1 gadgets;
i.
If the platform files exist, they will not be overwritten;
ii.
If the platform files no not exist, they will be copied from the system
\
bin
iii.
The above is intended to handle both the new install case and upgrade case;
iv.
Dashboards & AZZO Gadgets should function in this case;
a.
Using the new installer package:
Platform files were to be installed via the AZZO msi and given these were also
installed by the PME installer the outcome is likely to be inconsistent as we have
seen.

This issue has been corrected in the latest install package for the Azzo Xpert System Diagnostics.
Uninstalling the existing Azzo diagnostics package and installing the latest 8.2 diagnostics package from the link below should resolve the issue. This is the recommended solution.
