How to Configure a Third Stage of Neutral Voltage Displacement Protection (59N) on a Powerlogic P3 protection relay

Issue

The device provides only two dedicated stages of neutral voltage displacement (59N), but the customer requires three stages.

Cause

The standard protection package includes only two predefined 59N stages. Additional stages must be configured manually using programmable protection stages.

Resolution

To add a third 59N stage:

1. Activate one of the eight programmable stages available in the device.
2. Set the input coupling to Uo.
3. Configure the threshold and settings in the same manner as one of the dedicated 59N stages.
4. Save and apply the configuration.

This provides functionality equivalent to an additional 59N stage.
