Control Expert requires an 'Activation ID' if the demo is uninstalled and reinstalled before the demo period expires
Issue
Control Expert requires an 'Activation ID' if the demo is uninstalled and reinstalled before the demo period expires.
Product Line
Control Expert 14
Environment
Windows 7, windows 8, Windows 10
Resolution
The user is allowed to install and run Control Expert as a demo for only one demo time period. If they uninstall and
re-install the software within the demo time period, the second installation will require an activation license (This works as designed.)
Uninstalling the software will end the demo period.
When Control Expert is started, it will contact the Schneider Electric activation server to verify the activation license. If no license
is found, it will assign a demo license to the software. During the assignment of the demo license, it will also record the unique
hardware ID for the PC.
If the user re-installs the operating system on the same PC and then installs Control Expert, it will still require an activation license
