What is the Maximum Number of Modbus Serial Devices to Connect to Panel Server?
Answer
We are not enforcing any limit in the gateway. You could have as many slave devices downstream as you want.
Ensure to follow best practices related to Modbus Protocol and wiring. The key is to use the gateway in a way that is compatible with the downstream bandwidth. You need to ensure that the polling of devices is done at a rate compatible with the baud rate set on RS485 line.
We do not restrict on the number of downstream Modbus serial devices but care must be taken with bandwidth constraints on the serial line bus, when exploiting many devices.
