EcoStruxure Power Operation (EPO) 2021: Install fails at Configuring Users step
Issue
Below error reported during installation of EPO 2021.
"Request: ConfigureUsers fail at function call: AddUserToLocalGroup in broker: BrokerFragments\PSECitectCoreInstaller.Broker.xml"
Environment
EcoStruxure Power Operation (EPO) 2021.
Cause
From the installer logs, it was noticed that the installer expects Windows User Group 'Performance Monitor Users' and 'Performance Log Users' to add user 'NT SERVICE\Citect Runtime Manager' but when it fails to find these user groups then it will cause above error.
Either of the one from below list will cause this error-
- Missing above mentioned two user groups. OR
- These two user groups created in local language (when OS language is other than English).
Resolution
Manually Create below missing Windows User Group (Run > compmgmt.msc > Local Users and Groups > Groups)
- Performance Monitor Users
- Performance Log Users
Retry the failed step from EPO 2021 installer UI.
