How to Enable SmartConnect™ Control on SMC Units

Environment:

SMC models with SmartConnect™, all serial numbers

Resolution:

To enable SmartConnect™ control on SMC unit we need to enter on Configuration mode. Hold the MUTE and MENU buttons together for 2 seconds until the system emits a short beep and the display will flash to indicate the UPS has entered Configuration Mode.

When in Configuration Mode, press the MENU button to cycles the display through the available options and search for "rc.0" which is the default settings that indicates the SmartConnect™ remote control is disabled.

Press the MUTE button to toggle the configuration settings and change it to "rc.1" that enables SmartConnect™ control to send commands and configuration to the UPS.
