My Back-UPS shuts down after 15 minutes on battery power while there is enough back-up time remaining.

Article available in these languages: Dutch

Issue:
When utility power fails and the Back-UPS provides battery power, the Back-UPS shuts down unexpectedly after 15 minutes
even when there is enough backup time remaining.

Product Line:
Only Back-UPS products with No-load Shutdown functionality.

Cause / Resolution:
APC Back-UPS products with No-load Shutdown functionality enabled will shut down while operating on battery power when
the attached load is less than 15 watts.

NOTE: Please refer to the APC Back-UPS user guide for your model and check if your Back-UPS does have No-load Shutdown functionality. If the user manual does not mention this functionality, then this FAQ does not apply to your Back-UPS.

Example:

No-load shutdown

In case the Back-UPS does have a No-load Shutdown functionality, you can Enable or Disable this functionality.Automatic Voltage Regulation

Steps:
1. Ensure the Back-UPS is off. Plug it into AC power.
2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button until the LED repeatedly flashes. The unit is now in Program Mode.
3. Release the button. The LED will indicate the current setting by flashing once, twice, or three times per
second, and emitting audible beeps.
4. If the button is not pressed within five seconds, the Back-UPS will exit the Program Mode.

After step 3, you can change the current No-load Shutdown and also Voltage Sensitivity setting.

By pressing and releasing the ON/OFF button, you can cycle through the available settings mentioned in the table. Once you have selected the desired setting, wait for 5 seconds. The UPS will then exit Program Mode, and save the new setting (step 4).

Please note: Please refer to your UPS user manual for the correct table and available settings.
