How do I prevent my Altivar 61 / Altivar 71 series drive from running in reverse?

Article available in these languages: Spanish

Issue:
Trying to prevent my Altivar 61 / Altivar 71 series drive from running in reverse.

Product Line:
Altivar 61 / Altivar 71 series drives.

Environment:
All models, All serial numbers.

Cause:
Customers application requires operation of the motor in one direction only.  Running in reverse must be inhibited.

Resolution:
Under menu 1.5, Assign parameter "RUN REVERSE" to "NO"
Under menu 1.6, Assign parameter "RV INHIBITION" to "YES".

Please note that if you have "RUN REVERSE" assigned to a logic input, setting RV INHIBITION to YES will not prevent the drive from running in reverse,if called to by the logic input.  RV Inhibition will prevent the motor from being run in reverse from the graphic display or line.   Any speed reference, such as a PID reference, summing input, or any other speed reference that would normally cause the motor to run in reverse will now cause the motor to stop, when RV INHIBITION is set to YES.
