Issue
Multi device usage report subscription with output format as XML file contains trimmed right most 2 characters
Environment
PME - Web App > Reports
Cause
Windows update with KB4487006 is the causing this issue.
The bug appears to be in the OleDb driver. On systems affected by this bug, the msjet40.dll file (in c:\Windows\SysWOW64) is version 4.0.9801.8. After installing that KB, it should be 4.0.9801.16.
The original bug said KB4487006 created the bug, and indeed that is the hotfix that installs the buggy version of msjet40.dll.
Resolution
Microsoft fixed this issue related to truncated strings in XML expert in the following Rollup Cumulative update. Microsoft KB4503276 - June 11, 2019 Roll-up
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4503276/june-11-2019-kb4503276-os-build-monthly-rollup
So, for all our customers using PME v8.2 or 9.0, or future, if they install KB4487006, they need to also install KB4503276. They don’t need the hotfix I created (although it does work).
