Can I use the Vijeo Designer simulator to connect to the Physical HMISCU's CoDeSys PLC engine to read data?

No, it is not possible to use the Vijeo Designer simulator on the PC to communicate to the Physical HMISCU's PLC.  The reason for that is because in the Vijeo Designer I/O Manager, the SoMachine driver does have a PLC address/node name to externally connect from the PC Simulated Runtime to the Physical HMI - since by design, the HMI and PLC run in the same physical device. Therefore the Vijeo Designer simulator will not be able to find the PLC to establish a connection.
