Issue:

The customer wants to know which IIS components must be installed before performing PME installation and how to verify that all components were installed correctly. Missing components can cause PME Web Applications (Dashboards, Diagrams, Reports) to fail.

PME Web Applications

Cause:

Uninstalling or missing IIS components will cause some segments of PME Web Applications not to function properly.

Resolution:

Install IIS and the following role services before starting PME installation:

• Static Content
• Default Document
• Directory Browsing
• HTTP Errors

ii) Health and Diagnostics

• HTTP Logging
• Request Monitor

iii) Security

• Request Filtering

iv) Performance Features

• Static Content Compression

v) Management Tools

• IIS Management Console

Application Development Features

• ASP.NET
• .NET Extensibility (aligned with OS version, e.g., .NET 4.8 for Windows Server 2019/2022)
• ASP
• ISAPI Extensions
• ISAPI Filters

Tip: If prompted, click Add Required Role Services to include dependencies.

• IIS 6 Management Compatibility
• IIS 6 Metabase and IIS configuration compatibility
• IIS 6 WMI Compatibility
• IIS 6 Scripting Tools

Conditional Components

• Windows Authentication
  Required only if PME is installed with Windows Integrated Authentication.

Best Practice

• Add roles via Server Manager → Add Roles and Features.
• Click Add Required Role Services when prompted.
