User would like to know how the TLC is calculated in Single phase testing mode of ION 7550/7650 or ION8600/8650

Resolution
Single-phase test option lets you use a single-phase source and view three phase. When the single phase testing is enabled, the meter will calculate the V² Average, V⁴ Average and I² average from the single phase source according to the following calculations:

For a Wye system:


For a Delta system:



The above parameters are then used to calculate the losses according to the following :

You can also connect a single‐phase source voltage inputs in parallel and the current in series to simulate a three‐phase source without toggling to the single phase mode.
