There was some extra margin in the next smaller frame size, so they made an ATV212HD22N4S for the U.S. market only.
It is smaller and for the same power as the original ATV212HD22N4, which is still used throughout the world.
It is the only frame size that had this margin, so the ATV212HD22N4S is the only S version and is available only in the U.S.
If you are running a standard motor, then the ATV212HD22N4S will save you space.
If you are running a heavy duty application, or using the Service Factor, you may want to use the larger ATV212HD22N4.
