Can TCSESU switches work as a ring along with TCSESM switches?
Answer:
Yes.
The TCSESU will forward RSTP BPDUs even it is an unmanaged switch. The both TCESM will therefore recognize the connections and the unmanaged TCSESUs as a "cable" only. Therefore it will not get a loop, but if a connection between TCSESUs fails RSTP failover will take longer as expected because a linkdown is not detected by RSTP.
Therefore generally we do not recommend such a topology.
