How to perform an Auto-Diagnostics Test on an ATV61 or ATV71 Drive?
Resolution:
The ATV61/ATV71 drives include a built-in diagnostics feature that allows you to test internal components, such as IGBTs and thyristors. This is useful when troubleshooting issues like short circuit faults or verifying the health of the drive.
Run the auto-diagnostics test if you experience:
- Short circuit faults
- Suspected internal component failure
- Unexplained drive behavior
1.- Access the Diagnostics Menu
- Navigate to: Menu 1.10 – DIAGNOSTICS
2.- Select Test Procedures
- Choose “Test Procedures” from the menu
- Select the specific test you want to run
3.- Start the Test
- A warning message will appear
- Press and hold the ENT (Enter) key for 2 seconds to begin
4.- Understanding Test Results
For each IGBT tested, results are displayed on two lines:
- Line 1: Indicates if a short circuit is detected
- Line 2: Indicates if the component is open (no continuity)
Technical note:
The [TEST THYRISTORS] option is only available for:
- ATV61 drives ≥ 18.5 kW (M3 and N4 ranges)
- All ATV61...Y models
Extended test results (Thyristors 4–12 and IGBTs 1B–6B) are only available for:
- ATV61EC90N4 to M14N4
- ATV61EM15Y to M24Y
