Solution:
Most APC Rack PDUs support Modbus over TCP. However, units equipped with first-generation Network Management Cards (NMC1) do not include Modbus functionality.
Modbus support is available on:
- Rack PDUs with NMC2 running firmware version 6.x.x or higher
- All Rack PDUs based on NMC3 technology
Important Note: The APDU10XXXX Advanced Rack PDU series does not use NMC3 technology and therefore does not support Modbus. This series has been replaced by the APDU11XXXX variant, which incorporates NMC3 and provides full Modbus functionality.
How to locate the correct Modbus Register maps for your device:
Step 1:
Visit https://www.se.com/ and select your country.
Note: Available units and documentation may vary by region.
Step 2:
From the main menu, go to Support → Product Documentation & Software → All Documents and Software.
Step 3:
In the search box, enter PDU Modbus or Easy PDU Modbus, depending on your device.
This will display all relevant documents available for download.
