What does the I-t tab represent in EcoSet Design?
The I-t (Current-Time) tab displays the relationship between fault current (I) and circuit breaker operating time (t). This view helps users analyze how protective devices respond under various fault conditions.
The I-t graph is commonly used to:
- Analyze circuit breaker tripping performance.
- Verify protection coordination between devices.
- Evaluate selectivity and discrimination of protective devices.
- Assess whether protection settings provide the intended fault clearance sequence.
In the graph:
- The horizontal axis (X-axis) represents the current (I).
- The vertical axis (Y-axis) represents the operating time (t).
By reviewing the I-t curves, users can determine how quickly a circuit breaker will trip for a given fault current and ensure proper coordination with upstream and downstream protective devices.
