What does Ib (Design Current) represent in EcoSet Design?

Ib (Design Current) represents the current flowing through the selected circuit under normal operating conditions. It is calculated based on the connected load and the network configuration defined within the project.

The Ib marker helps users to:

• Verify circuit breaker sizing.
• Validate cable sizing.
• Check circuit loading conditions.
• Ensure compliance with protection and design rules.

For a compliant electrical design, the following relationship should be satisfied:

Ib ≤ In ≤ Iz

Where:

• Ib = Design Current
• In = Circuit Breaker Rated Current
• Iz = Cable Current-Carrying Capacity
