What does "Selectivity by Table" mean in EcoSet Design?

Selectivity by Table refers to the verification of selectivity using manufacturer-tested selectivity data for specific combinations of protective devices.

In EcoSet Design, the selected circuit breaker combination is automatically compared against Schneider Electric's validated selectivity tables to determine the level of coordination between upstream and downstream devices.

Based on the tested data, the software indicates whether:

• Total Selectivity exists, where only the downstream device operates for all fault levels up to the maximum prospective fault current.
• Partial Selectivity exists, where selectivity is maintained only up to a specified fault current level.
• No Selectivity exists, where both devices may operate simultaneously under fault conditions.

This method provides a reliable and accurate assessment because it is based on manufacturer-tested and validated device combinations, rather than theoretical curve overlap alone. As a result, it helps engineers confidently select protection devices that ensure continuity of service and proper fault isolation.
