What information is available in the Results panel for load circuits and feeder circuits in EcoSet Design?

The Results panel displays the electrical calculation outputs for the selected circuit and helps users validate the design against project requirements and applicable standards.

After running calculations, the Results panel is automatically updated with key electrical parameters that support equipment sizing, protection validation, and compliance verification.

Information Available in the Results Panel

results

1. Design Current (IB)

Displays the calculated operating/Design current of the selected circuit based on the connected load and network configuration.

2. Conductor Information

Provides details about the selected conductor, including:

  • Cable type
  • Cable size
  • Sizing criteria used for cable selection

3. Current-Carrying Capacity (Iz)

Displays the maximum continuous current that the conductor can safely carry under the specified installation conditions.

4. Short-Circuit Current Values

Displays the calculated fault currents at the selected point in the network, including:

  • Ik3max: Maximum three-phase short-circuit current
  • Ik2max: Maximum two-phase short-circuit current
  • Ik1max: Maximum single-phase short-circuit current
  • Ik3min: Minimum three-phase short-circuit current
  • Ik2min: Minimum two-phase short-circuit current
  • Ik1min: Minimum single-phase short-circuit current
  • Iefmax: Maximum earth fault current
  • Iefmin: Minimum earth fault current

These values are used to verify equipment withstand ratings and protection device breaking capacities.

5. Earth Fault Current (Ief)

Displays the calculated earth fault current used to evaluate fault protection performance, fault detection sensitivity, and safety requirements.

6. Selectivity Information

Provides protection coordination and selectivity results between upstream and downstream protective devices, including:

  • Selectivity method used
  • Selectivity status
  • Backup protection information (if applicable)

This helps users ensure reliable fault isolation and service continuity.

7. Voltage Drop Information

Displays voltage drop values to verify compliance with design requirements and applicable standards.

Circuit ΔU (%)

  • Indicates the voltage drop across the selected circuit only.
  • Helps evaluate the performance of the individual feeder.

Total ΔU (%)

  • Indicates the cumulative voltage drop from the source to the selected point in the network.
  • Helps verify that the overall installation remains within permissible voltage drop limits.

Benefits

The Results panel helps users:

  • Verify cable sizing and ampacity.
  • Validate protection device selection.
  • Review short-circuits current levels.
  • Assess earth fault protection performance.
  • Check protection coordination and selectivity.
  • Analyse voltage drops across circuits and throughout the installation.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical design requirements.

Note: After modifying any network component, cable, load, or protection setting, it is recommended to run calculations again to ensure that the Results panel reflects the latest project configuration and calculation results.
