Data Center Expert | How do I upgrade my appliance version?

Process for upgrading StruxureWare Data Center Expert.

You must have a valid currently active software support contract to recieve upgrade files.

For customers located in North America, complete upgrade instructions can be found within knowledge base FA372574.
For other customers worldwide, please contact your local technical support to receive upgrade files.

1) Extract the downloaded upgrade zip file.
NOTE: Please ensure that you have validated the MD5 checksum using a utility of your choice before extracting.  The MD5 checksum can be located on the same page where the upgrade zip file was downloaded from.

2) Login to the DCE Desktop Client, select the Updates Menu, and then select Apply Server Update.

3) Select Import and navigate to the extracted upgrade file.  Select Open.

4) Select Install Update to start upgrading the server.

5) Monitor the progress of the update on the web interface of DCE.
NOTE: Upgrades usually take an hour or less to complete, but for certain upgrades it may take significantly longer depending on the number of devices and amount of historical data.

6) When prompted for login on the web interface, log in and install the new desktop client.  Instructions for downloading and installing the desktop client can be found in knowledge base FA272226.
